The computer engineering major does more than simply combine
courses from electrical engineering and computer science. Rather it focuses on
the unique issues associated with design, operation, and maintenance of computers
and other digital systems, drawing content from electrical engineering and computer
science in such fields as microelectronics, electrical circuits and devices, algorithms,
and computer architecture as appropriate. The goal of the program is to give our
graduates the opportunity to take on some of the most challenging and important
technological problems we will face in coming decades.
