Overview

The Rodman Scholars Program is the honors program for the top 5% of each class in the engineering school. Students are selected for their superior academic performance and potential to become the engineering leaders of tomorrow. Rodmans are placed into a special first-year curriculum that allows them to expand and develop their talents by building and learning from each other. In addition to the first-year curriculum, the Rodman Scholars Program encourages Rodmans to explore their interests through 1-credit seminars chosen by the scholars themselves. Throughout their four years, Rodmans are given access to special research and design opportunities to continue developing their engineering and leadership skills.

Professor Dana Elzey oversees the Rodman Scholars Program while the Rodman Council organizes a variety of events for the Rodmans and manages much of the day-to-day operations of the program, in conjunction with Professor Elzey. All Rodmans can be a part of Rodman Council and are encouraged to attend meetings that take place every other week throughout the semester.

First Year Scholar Housing Changes
April 23, 2013
The first-year honors housing will be changing slightly in the coming year. The biggest change is that scholars give up their spot in honors housing if they request a non-scholar roommate, and will instead be assigned a random dorm in the normal housing process. See the current scholars page for more information about this change.

We are confident they will do amazing things, and we're excited to see where they will lead our program this next year. Please join us also in thanking Jeff Principe and Amir Tabaian. It was a close election, and we truly appreciate the dedication of these two fantastic individuals to the future of our program.
Volunteer for Days on the Lawn!
March 22, 2013
Days on the Lawn are right around the corner and we need your help to make sure that prospective Rodmans can see just what our program is about and get all of their questions answered. Several emails have been sent out by our advising chair, Alisha Geldert, with information and a form for you to fill out. Please take some time to fill out this form if you can help on any of the days.
Rotunda Dinner Approaching
March 22, 2013
The Rodman Rotunda dinner is upon us! A sign-up form was sent out earlier this week with information about the dinner. Due to various limitations, we can only accomodate 95 people at the dinner. We are doing this on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are not many spots left. If you want to be a part of this annual tradition, please sign up ASAP!
Rodman Council Recap
March 21, 2013
At our most recent Rodman Council meeting this past Wednesday, we discussed several upcoming events, including the Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn and Rodman Rotunda dinner. Progress was also made in the search for a logo to represent the program, particularly on our brand new website, which went up last week! The meeting was followed by a majors advising session for first years which those who came found very useful. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 3 at 8:15 PM. We'll see you there!
