Tetsuya Iwasaki
Assistant Professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Ph.D., Purdue University

Dr. Iwasaki joined the University of Virginia in the summer of 2000. He is the author or a co-author of two books, three book chapters and over 70 technical papers, 28 of which are in archival journals in the field of systems and control. He has served as associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and Systems and Control Letters. He is a recipient of a 2000 Honda Initiation Grant and Outstanding Reviewer Recognition from AIAA, IEEE, and IFAC journals. He is a member of ASME and a senior member of IEEE.

Research Interests
Tetsuya Iwasaki has his expertise in development of robust control theory for system design to tolerate large uncertainties in modeling error and environmental change. His recent interest is directed toward robustness and autonomy properties of biological control mechanism for animal locomotion at the neuronal circuit level.
