Teresa B. Culver
Associate Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering

Dr. Culver has served on the University of Virginia faculty since 1993. She has received a National Science Foundation CAREER Award, a Lilly Foundation Teaching Fellowship, and the Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers. She is an active member of the University's Program in Interdisciplinary Research in Contaminant Hydrogeology and the Center of Expertise for Superfund Site Recycling. She also has been a faculty fellow with the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory and the Army Corps of Engineers. She serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Environmental Engineering. She also belongs to the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Geophysical Union, and the Association of Environmental Engineering Professors.
 
Research Interests
Teresa Culver specializes in environmental systems analysis, with a focus on modeling and managing contaminants in groundwater and surface waters. She has been developing optimal management strategies for environmental systems, including cost-effective designs and operating policies for groundwater remediation systems. She also has been developing effective tools for modeling and managing water quality in watersheds.
