Carr | | Associate Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering | | Assistant Chair, Electrical and Computer Engineering | | Ph.D., The Queen's University of Belfast | | | | Dr. Carr will join the department in August 2002 as assistant chair. His primary activities are in the general administration of the graduate program, teaching, and the direction of departmental projects. He has served as a faculty member at the Florida State University and at the Indiana Institute of Technology, where he served five years as department chair. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK and his professional affiliations include the IEE Circuit Theory Professional Group and the IEEE Circuits & Systems Society. He is also a member of the Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Association and serves on the technical and education boards of that organization. | | | | Research Interests | | Stephen Carr’s research interests are in the areas of frequency-domain analysis of nonlinear circuits, general analysis and synthesis techniques, and educational aspects of circuit theory. Other areas of interest and experience include the characterization and modeling of radio frequency and microwave solid-state devices; and the design of video-frequency signal processing circuits. In recent years he also has consulted on fractional-horsepower motors and magnet-wire test instrumentation.
