Jeff R. Crandall
Associate Professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Director, Center for Applied Biomechanics
Ph.D., University of Virginia

Dr. Crandall has served on the U.Va. faculty since 1994. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine, and the American Society of Biomechanics.

Research Interests
Jeff Crandall's current research focuses on understanding the response and injury mechanisms of the human body during dynamic loading. Biomechanical applications include impact biomechanics, transportation safety, orthopedic studies and sports-related injuries. The primary body regions of interest are the extremities, thorax and head with an emphasis on protecting pedestrians and children.
