| Hossein Haj-Hariri | | Professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | | Ph.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology | | | | Dr. Haj-Hariri joined the University of Virginia faculty in 1988. He teaches undergraduate and advanced courses in engineering and applied mathematics. | | | | Research Interests | | Dr. Haj-Hariri's research interests range from applied mathematics to applied mechanics and fluid mechanics. His two current areas of research are the modeling of interfacial flows with applications in microgravity materials processing, and computational and experimental investigation of unsteady fluid mechanics of flapping flight. Additional research focuses on hydrodynamic stability, Hele-Shaw flows, numerical techniques, and the mathematical analysis of partial differential equations. | | | Sponsored Research Effects of Viscoelasticity on the Dynamics of Fluid Particles in Confined Domains (2002-2006) (funded by: NASA Headquarters) Unsteady Aerodynamics of Flapping Wings (funded by: NASA Langley)
