The mission of the center is to develop a science, engineering and technology base for laser and plasma processing of materials, devices and systems for advanced manufacturing.

Major Capabilities

• High power laser processing of materials (micromachining, drilling, cutting, welding, surface texturing, power sintering, peening)


• Plasma applications for coatings, surface modifications


• Electron beam processing of materials
