Engineers PRODUCED in Virginia
An Initiative of the School of Engineering and Applied Science

Engineers PRODUCED in Virginia (Providing Undergraduate Connections to Engineering Education in Virginia) is an academic outreach initiative of the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). Through this program SEAS is reaching out to bring undergraduate engineering education to communities throughout Virginia. The program is currently available in Lynchburg, in conjunction with Central Virginia Community College (CVCC), and in Danville, in conjunction with Danville Community College (DCC). In the fall of 2009, the program will be expanding to the service regions of nine additional Virginia community colleges, particularly in Southern and Southwest Virginia.

Through PRODUCED in Virginia, students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science from the University of Virginia without leaving their communities. That is, by enrolling in their local participating community colleges, where they will earn an Associate of Science in Engineering (or equivalent) degree, students can become eligible to enter into the U.Va. Engineering undergraduate program and ultimately earn their Bachelor of Science degrees in engineering by successfully completing the remainder of their undergraduate studies in a fully distance learning format.  No travel to Charlottesville is necessary for the UVa portion of the program.
