5th International Conference on Photo-Excited Processes and Applications
3-7 September 2006, Charlottesville, Virginia USA

[photos from ICPEPA-5] Welcome to the web page of the 5th International Conference on Photo-Excited Processes and Applications (ICPEPA-5). The conference took place in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA in September of 2006. It continued the traditions initiated at the 1993 Conference in Sendai, Japan, and strengthened at successive meetings in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1995, Strasbourg, France, in 1999, and Lecce, Italy, in 2004.

ICPEPA-5 brought together researchers from more than 20 countries involved in experimental, theoretical, and computational investigations in the general area of photon-assisted material processing. In addition to the traditional areas of laser-assisted film deposition and surface processing, the topics emphasized in the program of ICPEPA-5 included theory and basic physics of laser-materials interactions, computer modeling of photo-induced processes, laser interactions with molecular and biological systems, and laser applications for surface nanostructuring and nanofabrication.

The next ICPEPA will take place in September 9-12, 2008, in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Please visit ICPEPA-6 Web site and plan to attend this meeting.
We also cooperate with bi-annual SPIE International Conference on High-Power Laser Ablation (next conference will take place in Taos NM, in April 20-24, 2008.)
