Preparing a Press Release

If you would like to prepare a press release for your event, the SEAS marketing communications team is happy to help you. In order to begin the process, please send Andrea Arco (ana8n@virginia.edu, 434.924.7508) the following information:

  • What is the event (what is the name of the event, who is sponsoring it, what will take place during the event, etc.)?
  • Who is involved (what professors or outside speakers, sponsors or panelists are involved)?
  • Where is it taking place (actual physical location, seating capacity, open to public or not)?
  • When will the event take place (date and time of event)?
  • Why is the event happening (what is the purpose of the event, why being held where it is being held, context/content of event, etc.)?
  • Who are the people who must approve the press release?

Once the team receives this information, we will then draft a press release for your review and discuss distribution goals.

PLEASE NOTE: All press releases must be coordinated with the SEAS marketing communications team.
