Getting
In at the Ground Level
Applying
to the Engineering In Context Multi-disciplinary Capstone
Program is easy. You just attend the EIC Information Meeting,
which is held each year in the first or second week of November.
See Important Dates for current schedule information. At the
Info Meeting you will learn more about the program, how it
works and its objectives. You then complete an application
form, which includes a one-page essay and a recommendation
from one faculty member. Successful applicants are then invited
to enroll in ENGR 302 Engineering In Context, offered in the
Spring.
Second
Floor Entry
If you did
not take ENGR 302 in the Spring of your junior year, you can
still participate in the EIC Multi-disciplinary Capstone by
joining an EIC project team in your senior year. These teams
emerge from ENGR 302 with a problem and a strategy for solution.
One of the first things they need to do is recruit additional
team members that can provide the expertise needed to develop
the solution. You need only consult this website for information
on current
EIC Capstone projects,
and get in touch with the contact person identified for that
team.
