RESEARCH PROGRAMS: RET Projects
Starting in 2006, K-12 math and teachers from across Virginia will come to UVa to conduct research with engineering faculty in their laboratories and create teaching kits to introduce nanotechnology concepts in their classrooms. As part of their research experience, they will post information about these kits and their research on this website in the RET 2006 section of the RET Projects.
UVa RET History
Before receiving an NSF grant in 2005 to fund summer research for K-12 teachers, starting in 2006, the CDE and the UVa MRSEC Center sponsored two events for K-12 science and math teachers from Virginia.
In 2004, Buford Middle School teachers attended the Education Symposium with the MRSEC Education Team at the Materials Research Society Conference in Boston, MA. Please see RET 2004 for details.
In 2003, thirteen teachers from across virginia"Research Experience for Teachers" Workshop co-sponsored by the Penn State NMT Partnership & the UVa Initiative for Nanotechnology in Virginia. Please see RET 2003 for details.
