Welcome to the Center for Diversity
Our office's primary purpose is to increase the recruitment and retention of students from underrepresented populations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) pursuing degrees in engineering and applied sciences at all academic stages. Historically, women of all backgrounds, African Americans, Hispanic
Americans, and Native Americans are underrepresented in STEM and thus are our target groups to support; however, our
doors are always open to students of all genders, backgrounds, and identities who seek our guidance and support.
We believe that the varied perspectives brought by students, researchers and teachers of different backgrounds encourage
creativity and innovation in problem definition and design solutions essential to the field of engineering.
We warmly encourage you to browse through our website to learn about our vision and mission and explore the services
and programs we offer to pre-college, undergraduate and graduate students, and P—12 math and science teachers.
