Going Global

International jobs database with extensive country specific
information such as economic conditions, leading industries, cultural
norms, general employment practices. Access to Going Global is available
when you log in to the Center for Engineering Career Development’s
website: ( http://www.seas.virginia.edu/careerdevelopment).
Go to the Students Section - Job Search Resources/Going Global link once
you log in. SEAS students are eligible to register on Going Global and
are encouraged to establish a user ID and password.

- International education and experiential travel resource with an extensive
database of jobs, internships, language schools and volunteer positions.

Transitions Abroad.com
Backdoorjobs.com
- Directory of volunteer, short-term employment opportunities and internships
in numerous countries. Note that several of the programs include placement
fees.

CAVLink
- CAVLink is the official database and website for job listings and On-Grounds
Interviews (OGI) for UVA students and Alumni. Users have access to work
study, internships, externships, and summer and full-time job postings.
Students may employ the advanced search option to explore employment opportunities
outside of the United States.
- Please note that students can register their profile through CAVLink,
but students are required to attend a mandatory orientation to submit resumes
and apply for positions through the On-Grounds interviewing program.

to Student Section/Job Search Resources/OGI and CAVLink.
UCAN (University Career Assistance Network)
- Database of more than 18,000 alumni who have offered to give career information
to students and alumni. Use UCAN to find out where U.Va. alumni are working
abroad and contact individuals for guidance and information about local
resources.
- SEAS students can register to use UCAN at: www.Hoosonline.virginia.edu/ucan
CareerSearch
- Extensive job database that includes over one million companies along
with contact and company background information. Students can conduct an
international opportunity search according to industry type and location.
CareerSearch also provides The Nations of the World reports provided by
Grey House Publishing that profiles 231 nations and self-governing territories
around the world.
- Students can link to CareerSearch via the Center for Engineering Career
Development website (http://www.seas.virginia.edu/careerdevelopment)
- Go to Student Section/Job Search Resources/CareerSearch. Use uvaeng as
the Client Referral ID.
College Journal (sponsored by The Wall Street Journal)
- Offers a job database for entry-level jobs or internships, searchable
by location, industry, and job function. Check out the Global Careers section
with information on news & trends in the international employment arena.
