Ms. Adrienne P. Felt comes to us from the High Technology High School in Lincroft, New Jersey. She will be receiving her degree in Computer Science.
Adrienne has been generous with her time in service. She has been involved in the Dominican Republic with Orphanage Outreach, homework tutoring in the local migrant worker community, and building stoves in Guatemala. She is President of the Association for Computing Machinery at UVa and a member of the ACM Committee on Women in Computing. She is also the CS representative on the Engineering Student Council.
She has already done significant work in the field of Computer Science. She has been a computer science tutor in the Virginia Athletics program. She has been a research assistant in Computer Science and has developed a new seminar on web browser development for this department. She has interned at Google on their web application security team. She has done extensive research on privacy of Social Networking APIs, Mashup Security, and Disk-Level Malware Detection - this has resulted in 3 publications, 1 patent application and poster session presentations in Boston, MA, and Vancouver, BC.
Her success as an exceptional student has been recognized by many. She is a Rodman Scholar, she was a finalist in the Computer Research Associations Outstanding Undergraduate Award, and she has received grants from Goldman Sachs and the UVa student travel fund. She received the Glenn E. Kirwin Memorial Scholarship as well as the Computer Science Department’s Service Award.
