International Applicants

International students must have an excellent command of the English language in order to enroll at the University. The TOEFL or IELTS exam is required of all applicants if the language first learned and spoken in the home is not English. Most students admitted score at least 600 on the TOEFL paper exam, 90 on the IBT, or band 7.0 on IELTS. Some students may be required to complete the Summer English for Academic Purposes Program prior to admission.

A prospective international student must have appropriate, current, valid, and legal non-immigrant status before he/she can be offered final admission to the University. The International Studies Office provides assistance for international applicants’ visa documents.

With a few exceptions, the Accelerated Master Program in Systems Engineering (AMP) and Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP) are open to anyone who is legally entitled to reside in the US during the period of the program; however, AMP and CGEP students do not qualify for student visas. If you have questions regarding eligibility, please contact the International Studies Office (ISO).
