The Research Office supports the School's research and scholarship activities. It helps faculty and professional research staff to identify and secure funding for research; it supports their efforts to acquire and maintain laboratory equipment; research instrumentation and computing facilities and it serves as the interface with other University major operating units and the central administration on research-related issues.

The Office also helps the faculty and professional staff to protect intellectual property and to avoid conflicts of interest and commitment associated with start-ups.
