Program

The program in Applied Mathematics coordinates and administers mathematics instruction through its APMA courses to undergraduate students and graduate students in all departments of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. The mathematical tools and expertise developed are essential to the professional development of the future engineer and applied scientist. This instruction forms the core of the analytical-mathematical component of an engineering and applied science education and lays the foundation for ongoing professional development.

Minor

The minor in applied mathematics for undergraduate students consists of five courses at the 300 level or above. These courses must include at least two courses from APMA 308, 310, and 314. Courses may be selected from APMA offerings as well as offerings in MATH and/or STAT in the College of Arts and Sciences which are not substantial duplicates of courses in the School of Engineering and Applied Science taken by the student.
